In the past some skilled odd-jobbers made their own cameras, usually building bodies from metal or wood parts and adding shutter/lens combination taken from as spare part from an other camera...
This sample is very well made from massive metal parts. The shutter/lens combination has been modified to allow a perfect focusing movement, also the aperture adjustment has been modified to embrace the new mount perfectly.
it was designed to use plate holders of size that should allow 6x9 plates inside (i guess as no plate holder was found with that camera)
Focusing was made by turning the whole front, graduated from 1,5m to infinity with only one step in between at 4,5m.
There is a foldable frame viewfinder and a leather protective cap for the whole front. The guy who made that camera was definitively a serious handyman :-)
